La Salle Boys Soccer Team: On a Roll
October 16, 2015
The boys soccer team won last night 1-0 against Liberty on the road and improved their overall record to 6-3-3, while also moving into 8th place in state within the 5A division. This was an important victory against a division rival, and puts La Salle in good position for a critical next game.
Last night’s game against Liberty was close, but the Falcons scraped by with a win.
“It wasn’t our normal style of play, but we worked harder and adapted,” Jack Gabrish reflected after the game. “I was really proud of the team because everyone worked hard.”
After struggling early on this season, the Falcons are on the rise and have won 4 out of the last 5 games.
“We have struggles but we work through them” sophomore James Janke said. “We try to work together when we play and we do team bonding outside of practice.”
Next up for La Salle is Wilsonville, the second ranked 5A team in state. This game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20th. Wilsonville is undefeated and holds an impressive record of 10-0-2. On average, Wilsonville has been soundly defeating their opponents, often by a significant margin. Needless to say, this will present a challenge for La Salle’s team, but if the Falcons are able to walk away with a win next week, they will be in position to be a serious contender to go deep into the postseason.

Nice article, Evans! I think boys soccer is pretty underrated at LaSalle. I never use to hear much about the team, but this year I have actually gone to a few games and I think they’re more exciting to watch than football! The la salle soccer boys have been improving a lot and it would be really cool if they beat wilsonville.
