Falcon Soccer Teams Advance to Play-in Games
October 30, 2015
Both the boys and girls varsity soccer teams have had successful seasons, qualifying for State play-in games this weekend. The boys finished the season with a 5-2-1 league record and a 7-4-3 overall record, ranked 8th in state. The girls are ranked 7th in the state, finishing the season at 5-2-1 in league, and 8-4-2 overall.
Both games will be held on Saturday, October 31 on the home turf at La Salle, both against Mountain View High school. The girls will host Mountain View at noon, while the boys follow them up at 2:30.
The Mountain View girls team is ranked 17th in 5A, with a 4-8-2 record. The Mountain View girls played Parkrose earlier this year, tying with them 4-4, while the Falcons beat Parkrose 3-0. The Mountain View boys program is ranked just behind La Salle at 9th in state, with a 9-4-1 record. Like the girls, both teams have played Parkrose this season; Mountain View winning 5-1 and La Salle winning 3-1.
If the La Salle teams win, they will advance to the first round of the State tournament. The boys game would be held on Tuesday, November 3rd, while the girls would play Wednesday, November 4th; both at home.
