Snowboard Team Heads Up to Mt. Hood Meadows
January 16, 2015
The first snowboard competition of the season for La Salle is on Saturday, January 17th. Practices and competitions are at Mt. Hood Meadows. Members of the team have been practicing throughout the winter months.
Luke Guasco, sophomore, has been snowboarding for 3 years. “The practices are really fun” Guasco said. “And you get to hang out with your friends.”
Although there were only eight members of the team last year, the team still made a huge impact in their competitions. Quenten Carlson, sophomore, hopes to do even better than last season. “Our competitions went pretty well last season” he said. “We’re hoping to get as many people to state as possible.”
Students are encouraged to go and support their peers up on the mountain during the season, or to even think about joining the team. Snowboarding is a great way to stay active and enjoy the mountain. Good luck to all participants in the first competition of the season. Go Falcons!
