In order to spread Christmas cheer, two staff reporters from The Falconer decided to share some of their own poetry. These poems, in a variety of forms, are austere (a word which means severe) with a touch of comedy. Inspired by Oregon’s winters, these poems are sure to brighten anyone’s day.
We’re tired of this!
Winter, winter
You’re too cold
It’s getting kinda old
It kinda smells like mold

A letter to Snow
Dear Snow,
Hurry up! You’re taking too long . It’s about darn time that we had an actual snow day. Not this “freezing but no snow” business. You know, last night, I had a dream that we had eight inches of snow, and guess what…it was awesome! Then I woke up and realized there wasn’t any. You know how I felt then, huh? Do ya? Do ya? Do ya? I was sad.
Your sad friend,
Hannah

Oregon winters suck!!!
Snow is white
It’s like a bright light
Shining in the sky
It makes me want to die
Oh wait,
We never get snow
The end.
