With a 78-43 win over Sandy on Feb. 25th, the girls basketball team completed a perfect league schedule going 16 and 0. They now head back to the state playoffs to defend their championship title from last year. Their first game of the postseason is at home this Friday, March 4th, at 7pm versus #14 Lebanon.

Junior Aleah Goodman was honored this week as the Player of the Year for the Northwest Oregon Conference. Sophomore Taycee Wedin and senior Ally Jansen were named First team All-league as well, and Shannon Tran, Colby Jansen and Reese Timm all earned Honorable Mentions.

Currently ranked 3rd in state, the girls look to make a wake at the state tournament and make a run at the title. If they win this Friday the girls will head to Corvallis for the state tournament at Gill Stadium next Wednesday, March 9th through Saturday, March 12th.

The state tournament is spread out over 4 days. If the girls continue to win they will play Wednesday, Friday in the semi finals, and then in the state championship game on Saturday.

“I am really excited for the tournament and look forward to competing” senior Ally Jansen said in anticipation of the games ahead. “I think anything could happen, but I am really confident in our team and what we are capable of because we have worked so hard for this!”
