Freshman year is an unforgettably scary experience. Making friends, hard classes, and new teachers are just a few typical concerns of freshmen. No matter where students came from, life in high school is way different from life in middle school. After about a week of school being in session, eight freshmen were interviewed to get a sense for their thoughts about La Salle so far.

What are you looking forward to the most at La Salle?

“I am looking forward to making new friends.”

What has been your best experience at La Salle so far?

“Making a volleyball team and doing a great job winning games.”

What were you most nervous about coming into Freshman year at La Salle?

“Getting lost and going to my classes.”

What has been the biggest adjustment in high school compared to middle school?

“You’re a lot more independent, and you can’t rely on people to help you out with everything.”

Is La Salle different from what you expected it to be?

“Not really, I think I was prepared well to come to school here.”

“I’m looking forward to preparing myself for college.”

What has been your best experience at La Salle so far?

“Playing on the soccer team, I’ve made some good friends.”

What were you most nervous about coming into Freshman year at La Salle?

“Changing classes because I came from a small school.”

What has been the biggest adjustment in high school compared to middle school?

“There’s a higher workload.”

Is La Salle different from what you expected it to be?

“No, it’s pretty on point with what I thought.”

What are you looking forward to the most at La Salle?

“I’m looking forward to expanding and challenging myself, and Speech and Debate, which is something I love.”

What has been your best experience at La Salle so far?

“All the teachers are really welcoming, and good teachers.”

What were you most nervous about coming into Freshman year at La Salle?

“Everyone knew each other and I didn’t know anybody, because I have two people coming from my school, so making new friends.”

What has been the biggest adjustment in high school compared to middle school?

“The big walking distance, we usually don’t have lots of room between classes so we walk a lot. And also doing stuff in lots of little periods of time and getting it all done.”

Is La Salle different from what you expected it to be?

“My brother came here last year and just graduated, so it’s not that different. I really imagined it to be exactly how it is.”

“Participating in clubs and student council.”

“Meeting the people and teachers.”

“Forgetting the bell schedule and going to the wrong classes.”

What has been the biggest adjustment in high school compared to middle school?

“There are so many more people than there were at my old school.”

Is La Salle different from what you expected it to be?

“Yes, the students and staff are very welcoming and inviting.”

“That I’d end up getting lost and be late to my class by thirty minutes.”

What has been the biggest adjustment in high school compared to middle school?

“Moving from class to class and there are a lot of people.”

Is La Salle different from what you expected it to be?

“Yes, it’s a lot more fun than I expected.”

“Getting lost or nobody liking me.”

“There’s more homework and my old school was really small, and La Salle is really big.”

Is La Salle different from what you expected it to be?

“I expected upperclassmen to be mean, but they are actually really nice and welcoming.”

“Probably playing soccer with my new friends.”

“I was nervous about forgetting to bring my stuff, like my iPad.”

What has been the biggest adjustment in high school compared to middle school?

“There’s a lot more people and more classes.”

Is La Salle different from what you expected it to be?

“Not really, it’s like I thought.”

“Just seeing all the people here from my old school, and learning.”

What has been your best experience at La Salle so far?

“An easy math class.”

What were you most nervous about coming into Freshman year at La Salle?

“That I would be in a class with no one I knew in it”

What has been the biggest adjustment in high school compared to middle school?

“Getting here early.”

Is La Salle different from what you expected it to be?

“Yes, I knew that there was an A and B lunch and that the schedule is different, but I didn’t get how different it was.”
