This weekend, the La Salle volleyball team ended their season by making it all the way to the State Championships. The team worked extremely hard and brought home a 2nd place trophy, out of a total of 33 5A teams in the state.

After easily beating Churchill in the quarterfinals, the team advanced to the semifinals and beat Bend there. This put them on the path to the championship to face their final competitor, Summit, who eventually overtook La Salle to win the first place trophy.

“I feel like we played very well during our games, it was probably the best week of volleyball that we’ve had all season,” says sophomore player Olivia Bergeson. “The championship game could’ve been better, but I’m glad to have had this experience with my team. We worked really hard to get where we were and of course we’re disappointed to have lost that game, but we’re happy with how far we’ve made it.”
